Dr. Maheshwari has been practicing Internal Medicine in Broward County, Florida, since 1992. He was born in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, India, and completed his medical education at SMS Medical College, Jaipur, Rajasthan. He completed his residency training at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, New York.
He currently serves as a Regional Director of AAPI and has served on its Board of Trustees. He is the Co-Chair of Akshaya Patra South Florida and the former President of the Indian Physicians of South Florida. He also served as Chief of Staff and Chairperson of the Department of Medicine at Broward Health North, and as President and Governing Board Member of the South Florida Hindu Temple.
Following the tragic loss of his son, Rahul, in 2014, Dr. Maheshwari and his wife founded Light One’s Path Foundation, a nonprofit organization providing free medical services to underserved communities.
His life reflects a deep commitment to medicine, compassion, community service, and helping those in need.
