
Dr. Narendra Maheshwari
Dr. Narendra Maheshwari was born in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal, India. After completing his primary schooling from his hometown, he moved to Pilani, Rajasthan where he finished secondary school. He finished his medical school in 1983 from SMS Medical College, Jaipur. Dr. Maheshwari completed his residency program at Long Island Jewish Medical Center, New York. After completion of training, he moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1992. Dr. Maheshwari married his wife, Priti Maheshwari, an active Real Estate agent in South Florida for many years. Priti is a US graduate in Nutrition and Dietetics. She currently serves as Chairperson of South Florida Hindu Temple. Both Dr. Maheshwari and Priti are active members of many nonprofit organizations. Since 1992, Dr. Maheshwari has been practicing as a Board-Certified Medical Doctor in Broward County. He is very focused not only on what he decides to do in his own life, but also very focused and dedicated to serving the community where he resides. He has served at many nonprofit organizations: – Member of the Governing Board of South Florida Hindu Temple. He is the founder and President of Indian Physicians of South Florida 2015-2016. Dr. Maheshwari has been the Chief of Staff of Broward Health North. He is the former Chairperson of the Department of Medicine. On October 8th, 2014, his life took a turn when his only son Rahul, aged 24 years and a medical school student, was killed in a car accident. This tragic moment changed his and his wife’s lives. Supported by his family and friends, they opened a non-profit foundation named Light One’s Path, which provides free medical services to the underprivileged people. The main goal of his life is to serve and help the needy, in whatever way he can.
