Dr. A.S. Pandya is a distinguished professor, researcher, and inventor with four decades of experience in computer science, engineering, and interdisciplinary research. He currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at Florida Atlantic University (FAU).
His research career has focused on bringing together Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, VLSI Systems, Robotics, Brain Science, and Medical Sciences, creating innovative connections between computing and human-centered applications.
Dr. Pandya has successfully secured more than $7 million in research funding over the past two decades from leading organizations including the National Science Foundation (NSF), IBM, and Motorola. A patent-winning inventor, he has contributed to both academic research and industry innovation.
He is also recognized for authoring Pattern Recognition with Neural Networks in C++, published by IEEE Press in 1995, an early textbook dedicated to neural network applications.
Dr. Pandya completed his undergraduate education at IIT Bombay and earned his M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Syracuse University, New York. His work reflects a strong commitment to research, innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and advancing the application of technology to complex real-world challenges.
